A Shedding Sibe Tale

Image
"Woo! It's hard work blowing our coats, isn't Gibson?" Wolf says. "Mom did a good job brushing us." "That is just from you, little bro," replies Gibson. "Hey, boys, tomorrow is Spa Day and you all will be getting your coats blown out, bathed, and nails clipped. How great is that?! Wait...why are you all going into the house? Was it something I said??!" * * *

Our boy Wolf greets the morning as he kissed by the sun. Morning Has Broken by Eleanor Farjeon   "Like the first morning Blackbird has spoken Like the first bird Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning! Praise for them, springing Fresh from the Word!  Sweet the rain's new fall Sunlit from Heaven Like the first dewfall On the first grass Praise for the sweetness Of the wet garden Sprung in completeness Where His feet pass  Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning! Born of the one light Eden saw play! Praise with elation Praise every morning God's recreation Of the new day!" Shadow Shot Sunday 2

Bandit managing my home office . It is Take Your Dog to Work Day® ! What can make Friday, the end to a work week for most, even better? Why bringing our furpals with us, of course! How many of you were able to bring your dog to work today? We'd love to hear all about it! Whether you work in an office, out on the road, or from a home office, having our canine companions with us makes the day much brighter!  Some fun facts about Pet Sitter's International (PSI) Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWDay ):   • TYDTWDay was first celebrated in 1999. • It was created by PSI to celebrate the great companions dogs make and encourage their adoptions. • It encourages employers to experience the joy of pets in the workplace and support their local pet community. • It is an annual event and is always celebrated on the Friday following Father’s Day. • It accommodates cat lovers and others who cannot participate on TYDTWDay. The entire week leading up to the Day, June 18

Strolling with Gibson. What Makes a Dad? Chloe's Champion. God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle's flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it ... For the Love of Chloe

Image
"I know no ways to mince it in love, but directly to say ‘I love you’."    ~William Shakespeare Our journey with Chloe as she heads down the path of healing from her recent double Bilateral Cruciate Imbrication surgery is an incredible one. Watching my daughter care for her so tenderly warms my heart, as she is such a good mommy to Chloe. Chloe and my daughter share a special bond and watching it through these trying times is...simply put...amazing. During this journey, as many of you who have gone through traumas with your furbabies can relate to, it is a roller coaster of emotions that have filled us, especially fear. First absolute fear when Chloe first screamed in pain when her legs went lame. Fear of the unknown. Fear of not knowing what happened to her. Fear of not knowing what her future held.  Then comes determination. No matter what...Chloe would be healed. There was absolutely no other alternative to the situation. As a family we discussed that if we did not ge

Newsy Tuesday: Welcome Home, Chloe!

Image
Our sweet Chloe is home from the hospital and is settling in. She is pretty heavily sedated & resting to allow time to heal. Chloe had double Bilateral Cruciate Imbrication as she tore both her CCLs (ACLs), blew both meniscuses. The surgeon said her cruciates were a mess, but he felt the surgery went very well. Chloe is young, just four, and the best guess is she either was born with weakened knees or after a spill, it became weaker and she started relying on her good leg, thereby weakening that one too and it was just a matter of time before they just snapped. When we first arrived home from the hospital, she received such a happy warm "wooo" welcome from our other Sibes! They are very happy to have her back home, although our alpha queen Harley, the Pupsters surrogate momma, has been frantic and very anxious. We can see how she worries about Chloe and just wants to be sure she is okay.  "Wooo!  Chloe is home!"   "We missed you so much!" S

Surgery Update on Chloe

Chloe Update: My daughter just received a call from the surgeon and Chloe is out of surgery and just went into recovery. Her knees were really bad. In addition to the torn ACLs (CCLs in dogs) in both legs, she had both meniscuses blown, and her cruciates were torn. Our poor baby girl. They will have a full progress report for us tomorrow. Lots of calls in to check on her will be happening today. Will post more when she is back home. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for all your wonderful thoughts, prayers, comments, and support! I know our Chloe is feeling all the love!

Quick Update on Chloe

Just popping in quick for a little update on Chloe. This is a video of the Sibes calling out to Chloe this morning before leaving and her answering them back from another room. They sure miss their little sis. She is at the surgeon's and is in critical condition as she not only tore both ACLs, but also blew out one meniscus that they have to rebuild. They are putting her in for surgery tomorrow for both legs and she is scheduled to come home Saturday. A huge heartfelt "Thank You" goes out to all of you for your wonderful support, kind words & prayers, Emails, and very helpful information. I have been reading all your wonderful comments via my phone and it just is so wonderful and means so much to us. Thank you!

Paw Circle of Healing for Sweet Chloe

Chloe, sedated and crying with her new stuffie . We have had a traumatic event happen here yesterday...our sweet Chloe went to jump up on the bed on Sunday and suddenly started yelping out in pain. She dropped to the floor and could not move her hind legs and has been crying non-stop ever since. At 3AM we carried her into our emergency vet hospital, where they gave her two shots -  one for pain and one for inflammation. They then examined her and suspected hip displaysia. They allowed us to take her home (by now it was 4:30 and our vet opened up at 7) and we laid her on her bed and let the pain meds work until she cried herself to sleep. At 7AM, she woke up literally screaming. We brought her right in to our vet who suspected, not hip issues, but rather torn ACLs, and the X-rays confirmed she has bilateral tears in both legs and recommended an orthopedic surgeon. Chloe has an appointment this Wednesday at 10 AM. She is crying and it is heartbreaking. It's very hard to stay posit
