Welcoming in the Holiday Season with a Regressive Dinner for Pets Event

Image
T oday is the Halloween kick-off and first installment of the Two Little Cavaliers holiday season Regressive Dinner for Pets event! First, we would really like to thank them for hosting such a creative and fun event. We are very excited to participate - after all, it's about treats and food and the holidays! We are highlighting a favorite very simple treat of the FiveSibes - yogurt-dipped bones. Yum! We first saw these at a fruit and vegetable stand and thought what a great idea! They were charging $1.50 per bone wrapped in a pretty cellophane packet, and I thought with five Huskies, I could not only make that buck-fifty go farther, but I would feel good about having the treats be made at home. The best part? My five Siberian food critics all gave the recipe five paws up! Here's a video of the recipe we posted last year while doing our Canine Cooking Corner feature that we thought you'd enjoy! Bon Appetit! The fun hops along at all these wonderful blogs where recipes a

And here's Wolf up to some tricks (helping himself to some treats while the others are busy playing! Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky!)            Our blogpals the Cybersibes , are doing something extra spooktacular for Halloween, they are hosting a Show Us Your Treat Jar event where our furkids can blog about their own favorite treat jars, AND also us hu-parents are encouraged to     donate some treats to our local pet shelter!   AUTUMN WOODS by James S. Tippett I like the woods In autumn When dry leaves hide the ground, When the trees are bare And the wind sweeps by With a lonesome rushing sound. I can rustle the leaves In autumn And I can make a bed In the thick dry leaves That have fallen From the bare trees Overhead. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Please vote for Wolf! Sending Comfort and Care to Huskies and Their Hu-Parents

Image
Today's blog is dedicated to two furpals - Keva from Forida, and Zen from Canada. KEVA from Florida Keva is a senior Husky who is an amazing age of 16, and one of several furloves of her hu-daddy. Keva is now severely arthritic and sadly, is now failing and her hu-dad has been carrying her now to go for truck rides (which she loves!) She spends her days laying in the warm Florida sunshine surrounded by her hu-dad and her pack mates. Sadly, her hu-dad informs me she is getting ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge soon. Keva, you and are in our thoughts. May you stay strong girl. ZEN from Canada Zen is from Canada, and is in her final stages of battling cancer. Many already know of Zen and sister Freya who are both battling cancer. This past June, I posted a blog article titled, Zen & Freya: Waging War on Canine Cancer and About How Sometimes Asking for Help Brings Help to Others. According to her hu-mom, Zen wasn't feeling well the past few days and was back in to th

Blog the Change for Animals: Be Smart Ride Safe® & Bark-Buckle Up for National Animal Protection & Safety Month.

Harley sits in the back and is always buckled up. Buckle Up! It's the Paw ! That's what our new car magnet says! When it comes to our pet's safety, we can't be too careful when traveling in a vehicle. That's why today, in honor of Blog the Change for Animals in conjunction with National Animal Protection & Safety Month, I'd like to once again talk about a very important subject: safe pet travel. Whether you use a crate or a seat belt, please remember to buckle-up your furkids before you turn that ignition key. According to Be Smart Ride Safe®: * A 60-pound pet can causes a 2,700 pound projectile, even when moving at only 35mph * Statistics show pet travel has increased 300% since 2005 * Unrestrained pets in vehicles can delay emergency workers' access to human occupants * Pets escaping a vehicle post-accident can pose many dangers, including catching the loose pet * Injured pets may bite rescue workers or others who are trying to
